Premier Diplomat Garden Room

We installed this 5m x 2.5m Premier Diplomat garden room for a customer in Yatton, North Somerset.

The room was built in an established garden with open countryside beyond. The Diplomat model features corner glazing, with sliding patio doors and a full-height glazed panel providing views towards the garden.

The 5m x 2.5m internal dimensions provide space that could be used as a garden office, creative studio or additional room away from the house. The customer selected a mixture of Western Red Cedar and Thermowood cladding, along with a fully plastered and decorated interior.

Cedar Cladding and Corner Glazing

The front and one side of the building were finished in Western Red Cedar, with Thermowood cladding to the rear and remaining side. Narrow timber cladding slats were also fitted to the underside of the roof overhang.

The main entrance consists of 2800mm x 2000mm grey UPVC sliding patio doors with a low-level threshold, offset to the left-hand side. A 600mm x 2000mm full-height glazed panel was fitted beside the doors to form the glazed corner.

An additional 800mm x 800mm opening window was installed to the front. The glazing is grey externally and white internally.

The external finish also includes timber louvres, a decked step and lighting beneath the roof overhang.

Plastered Interior With Oak Laminate Flooring

Inside, the garden room was finished with plasterboard and skim, painted white. Commercial-grade oak laminate flooring and white skirting were also installed.

The electrical specification included internal downlights, four twin recessed sockets and a consumer unit. External up/downlights were also included, with the lighting and sockets wired to Part P regulations.

The completed interior has a simple white finish, with plenty of natural light coming through the sliding doors and corner glazing. The room is ready for the customer to furnish and use.

Insulated Construction and Garden Room Installation

The Premier Diplomat was built using SIP construction with 100mm insulation to the walls and floor. The roof was finished with PIR-insulated composite roof sheets, guttering and a downpipe.

Ground screw foundations were used for the installation, with the rear row set into concrete as specified for the site.

The completed room combines the Diplomat’s corner glazing with a choice of timber cladding and a fully finished interior. The Premier range allows customers to select different sizes, glazing arrangements, cladding and internal finishes to suit their requirements.
