Bespoke Studio Garden Room with Covered Games Area

A garden room for games and social space

We installed this bespoke Premier Studio garden room in Chiswick, West London, designed as a games and social space at home. The main room is 6m x 4.5m, with a 1.5m x 2.5m covered area added to the side.

The enclosed room gives the customer a proper indoor space for social use throughout the year. The glazing specification included grey UPVC sliding patio doors at 2400mm x 2000mm and 2800mm x 2000mm, plus a rear single door with a solid panel.

Covered side area for table tennis

The covered side section adds another use to the building. It gives the customer a sheltered area for table tennis, seating or outdoor social use, without needing a separate structure in the garden.

Roof lights and timber detailing

Roof lights were added above the covered section to bring more natural light into the space. The covered area was tied into the main structure, with timber framing and posts used to support the roof.

Western Red Cedar and Thermowood cladding

This project used Western Red Cedar to the front and left-hand side, with Thermowood to the right-hand side and rear. The mix of cladding was chosen to suit the design and the different elevations of the building.

Planning a bespoke garden room

This project shows how a bespoke garden room can be designed around how the customer wants to use the space, rather than sticking to a standard model. Future Rooms designs and installs garden rooms in London, including garden offices, studios, games rooms and bespoke layouts.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and all the team who installed our garden office at the end of November. I was delighted that EVERYONE from the crew who did the initial build (in just two days!), to the plasterer (a true "old school " artisan!) and the electrician and painting team were absolutely amazing, VERY professional, cheerful, quick and left the site very tidy indeed! I really appreciated their flexibility and attention to detail too.
